Initiatives That Save Lives Every Day
From free helmet distribution to Helmet Banks and book-driven libraries, Helmet Man of India turns road safety into daily action.
Since 2014, Helmet Man of India has focused on simple, powerful ideas: give helmets directly to riders who don't have them, create places where helmets can be borrowed for free, and link road safety with education through books and libraries.
Our Core Initiatives
Three powerful programs working together to make India's roads safer
Free Helmet Distribution
Whenever Helmet Man of India sees a two-wheeler rider without a helmet, he stops – not to fine, but to give a free ISI-certified helmet. This simple act has led to over 77,000+ helmets distributed since 2014.
Helmet Banks
Helmet Banks are permanent points where people borrow helmets free of cost using an ID card. The first bank, highlighted by The Times of India, was set up at a CISF office and is open to families of personnel.
12 Years of Service
Since 2014, Helmet Man of India has dedicated 12 years to road safety, distributing 77,000+ helmets and saving 51 lives across 22 Indian states.
Free Helmet Distribution
After losing his close friend in a 2014 road accident in Greater Noida, who was not wearing a helmet, Raghvendra Kumar began distributing helmets to two-wheeler owners for free. He has been doing this consistently since 2014.
- Free ISI-certified helmets for riders without helmets
- Focus on high-risk areas: highways, city roads, school and college zones
- Run in collaboration with police and government departments in states like Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Uttarakhand
- Hands over helmets personally and uses that moment to explain road safety

"People know him as the man who sold his home and gives away helmets so others don't lose their loved ones."
Helmet Banks – Safety on Loan, Free of Cost
Helmet Banks are a unique concept pioneered by Helmet Man of India. The first bank in Noida was opened at a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) office, as reported by The Times of India.
Families of CISF personnel could avail helmets by showing their identity cards. The plan is to expand Helmet Banks to Delhi, Noida, Dehradun, Pune, Mumbai, Bhubaneswar, Bhopal and Lucknow, and later to public locations where citizens can borrow helmets using Aadhaar cards and mobile numbers.
Helmet Bank on the Army Campus
A proposed initiative to set up Helmet Banks inside Army campuses to provide helmets to soldiers and their families, ensuring their safety on roads and creating a model for other communities.
- Borrow helmets free of cost with ID
- Reduces cost barrier for safe riding
- Supported by the Indian Army and paramilitary institutions
- Backed by positive media coverage and appreciation letters

Books, Helmets & 1400+ Libraries
"पुस्तक दो – हेलमेट लो" – Give a book, take a helmet
Helmet Man of India runs a powerful education-plus-safety initiative often described as "पुस्तक दो – हेलमेट लो" (Give a book, take a helmet). People donate books, and in return, helmets are provided to those who need them.
According to his profile, more than 12 lakh books have been distributed and over 1,400 libraries established. A newspaper clipping highlighted this philosophy and mentioned 56,000 helmets and 1,400 libraries at that stage.
These libraries serve students in schools, communities and areas that otherwise struggle for educational resources, combining road safety with knowledge.
